Job Summary for Work from Home Education Counsellor Jobs :

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Remote Academic Advisor to provide academic guidance and support to students across various educational programs. As a Remote Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in helping students achieve their educational goals by offering personalized advice on course selection, program planning, and academic progress. This position requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of academic programs, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Support and Guidance:

  • Provide one-on-one academic advising to students via phone, video calls, email, and other online communication tools.
  • Assist students in selecting appropriate courses based on their academic goals, program requirements, and career aspirations.
  • Guide students in creating and maintaining academic plans, ensuring alignment with their educational objectives.

• Academic Planning and Progress Monitoring:

  • Monitor and track students’ academic progress throughout their program.
  • Identify at-risk students and provide proactive support to help them overcome academic challenges.
  • Recommend resources and strategies to improve academic performance, including tutoring, workshops, and study plans.

• Program and Curriculum Expertise:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the institution's academic programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about curriculum changes, new course offerings, and program updates.
  • Advise students on transfer credits, prerequisites, and degree requirements.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and other departments to address student needs and ensure a cohesive academic experience.
  • Participate in virtual meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and adapt advising techniques to meet individual needs.

• Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of advising sessions, student interactions, and academic plans.
  • Utilize the institution's student information system to update records and track student progress.
  • Assist in the development of academic advising materials, resources, and online content.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Relevant certification in academic advising or counseling is a plus.

• Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in academic advising, student counseling, or a related field, preferably in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with online education platforms and remote learning environments is highly desirable.

• Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and student information systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Empathy and a student-centered approach to advising.
