Competition Math Teacher (Online Class)

We are seeking a few dedicated Math Competition Teacher to join our team. This role involves teaching and preparing students for math competitions, fostering their problem-solving skills, and inspiring a love for mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Delivery:

• Design engaging lesson plans tailored to students' needs and competition requirements.
• Deliver effective instruction using a variety of teaching methods.

Competition Preparation:

• Prepare students for local, state, and national math competitions (e.g., AMC 8, Math League) by teaching strategies specific to each competition format.
• Guide students through rigorous practice, focusing on time management, problem-solving skills, and exam techniques.
• Analyze past competitions to identify trends and develop effective preparation strategies.

Student Assessment and Progress Tracking:

• Monitor student progress through regular assessments, and mock exams.
• Identify areas of strength and weakness to tailor instruction accordingly.
• Provide timely feedback to help students improve their performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
• Maintain open communication with students and parents to set goals and track progress.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, education, or a related field. (Master’s preferred)
• At least two years of experience teaching mathematics, especially at the middle school levels.
• Strong understanding of math competition formats, strategies, and problem-solving techniques.
• Experience with AMC or other math competitions is highly desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for mathematics and a commitment to student success.
• The ideal candidate must be available to work on Friday evenings at 7:00 PM EST.
• Ability to work remotely and independently.

Compensation:

$30-$50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
